Finding out that you are being sued, and receiving this notification in the mail is a very scary event. This lawsuit, initiated by Lighthouse Management and 3 vengeful people on our HOA board, (unbeknownst to the homeowners), was pursued over 4 years. They continually filed Motions, 3 in advance of the trial - each of the 3 they lost but continued this persecution. Following a 3 day trial at the Superior Court of Arizona, Maricopa County, the court unanimously ruled against them on 6 counts. None of the HOA Board members remained in court to hear the verdicts. Following the 3 day trial, they again filed motions with the court; 1 to have a new trial, a 2nd to deny having to pay the court awarded costs. The judge denied the new trial and ordered that the costs be paid in full or a 7.75% interest would begin if they were to Appeal the case. Dessaules Law Group was fantastic. They held their own, their pleadings were excellent and throughout the 4 years, remained focused on the facts and pressed for discovery - their efforts were instrumental in showing to the court/jury exactly what was behind this frivolous, vengeful lawsuit. Jon Dessaules was an excellent advocate and outstanding orator in court. Rob Connelly was especially conscientious in gathering, organizing facts. These two gentlemen are articulate lawyers that can effectively connect with the jury, resulting in a huge win. The HOA and Management Company set out to sue and ruin us financially, but with Dessaules Law Group, the Court ruled heavily in favor of us and we won a complete and decisive victory with the HOA being ruled against (on all 6 counts) and paying all costs ($189,000.).
