First of all, let me share an actual good piece of advice I got from the internet -- "Why would you ever go to court without a lawyer?" And I would follow that up with, why would you try to replace the expertise of a person who's been trained in the law and who is ethically required to represent you to the best of her ability with google searches, bots, and advice from internet randos. I was going to go to traffic court without a lawyer, and that would have been a big mistake, because I didn't know the system. Thankfully, I took the advice above, and hired Amanda. She explained the situation to me, clearly and concisely, she told me what she thought she would be able to do, and then she delivered exactly that. If I had tried to represent myself in traffic court, I feel certain I would have had a worse outcome, maybe even a worst case scenario outcome. Amanda negotiated the offense down, which lowered the fines and requirements levied by the court. It was a huge relief to have someone who knew the system on my side.
