What I appreciate most is that she understands real estate from a practical business perspective. She’s knowledgeable, responsive, solution oriented, and always willing to help us think through the best path forward. As an investor and operator, having an attorney who understands the speed and complexity of this industry is extremely valuable.
Melanie has become someone I genuinely trust to have in my corner, and I’m grateful for the support she’s provided to me and my team. If you’re a real estate investor, business owner, or anyone looking for a knowledgeable attorney who understands how to navigate complicated situations, I would absolutely recommend Melanie Mayer LLC.

I do not take leaving a negative review lightly, but after my experience with this closing attorney’s office, I believe it is important to share what happened.
Our real estate closing took place on Friday. The buyer did not attend and completed the closing documents electronically, which was perfectly fine. The buyer sent the funds later Friday afternoon, and the attorney’s office told me on Monday, August 31, that the funds were not received until after 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Because of that, I completely understood why my seller’s proceeds and my brokerage commission were not disbursed on Friday. That is not the basis of my complaint.
My experience changed on Monday.
At approximately 11:20 a.m. on Monday, I called the attorney’s office for the third time that day to confirm whether they had received approval from the buyer to disburse the funds. They confirmed that they had received approval to release the funds, and I was told that the wire would be sent around that time. At that point, I reasonably expected the disbursement to be processed or, at the very least, to receive clear communication if there was going to be an additional delay.
Instead, the afternoon continued with no funds and no proactive communication. I found myself continuing to call and email the office trying to determine when my seller’s proceeds and my brokerage commission would actually be disbursed.
After repeatedly trying to get an update, I eventually sent an email stating that I would have my broker contact them regarding the matter. I then called again at approximately 3:15 p.m.
During that call, I was told that it was the end of the month, that the office was working on its books, and that they were trying to close out Friday’s and Monday’s closings. I understand that the end of the month can be extremely busy for a closing office. However, I did not find “it’s the end of the month…” to be an acceptable explanation for not releasing the funds when they got approval that morning. Those are internal administrative responsibilities of the office and should not become the burden of the seller or the real estate professionals involved in the transaction. If administrative processes delayed the disbursement, that should have been clearly communicated rather than leaving me to repeatedly call and email for answers.
But, in the midst of that one staff member explaining that it was the end of the month…, I could hear another staff member in the background stating that the funds had just been released and that the wire had been sent. I responded, “Thank you.”
The next thing I knew, the call had been disconnected.
There was no “you’re welcome,” “is there anything else we can help you with?” or “have a good evening.” The call simply ended.
I immediately checked my account after the call ended, and the funds were there. My ultimate concern was how the communication surrounding the disbursement Having process was handled.
What ultimately prompted me to leave this review was that final telephone interaction. After repeatedly following up throughout the day, having the call abruptly end immediately after I said “thank you” left me with a very poor impression.
Based solely on my personal experience with the disbursement process, the communication I received, and my final telephone interaction with this office, I would be hesitant to voluntarily select this office for one of my future closings.
I’ve worked with Melanie and her team for several closings, but meeting them in person was a fantastic experience. They are so welcoming and professional, and it was a joy to see them in action. Melanie, Maria, and Tina were all amazing, and my client couldn't stop raving about how comfortable she felt with Melanie. I recommend them to anyone looking for top-tier closing attorney.
