I was referred to Stephanie Proffitt by a close friend who I saw live through torment from the mother . Being able to have your kids back in your life is a phenomenal outcome so I Hired her . For years it was a constant conflict over money when all I’ve been is a great father and monthly sums were well over the average. Stephanie I like to say is like a sledgehammer in court . When I tell you to run as far as you can from these people, I mean it. This law firm represented my now ex wife (not me) and did nothing but disservice her the entire time. Little to no correspondence. The lawyer didnt show up to the mediation. My ex had 0 representation at the divorce trial. The only reason the divorce went through and is final is because my ex and I decided to do it ourselves with the assistance of my lawyer. Her lawyer missed or didnt submit any documents in time and left my ex in the dark the entire time. she even submitted documents with out my exs consent to further complicate a fairly simple situation. And then out of spite, on the day everything had to be turned into the court to avoid trial, they sent it over 30 minutes past the dead line. Really resembled what i would assume as a reason to keep the tab running. They were well aware of the timeline and purposely left my Ex with 0 correspondence until after the dead line forcing her to go to trial and have to deal with an already tough to deal with situation. They had time to communicate with my lawyer several times pre deadline but had 0 time for their own client. Please dont waste your time, sanity, or money with these people.

I hired Stephanie expecting honest representation, but my experience was the complete opposite. I came into this case with strong evidence, clear documentation, and detailed concerns that I trusted her to present. Unfortunately, she did not prepare, did not bring notes, did not present the key issues we discussed, and did not advocate for me at all in court. Throughout the process, communication was inconsistent, and many of the important points I raised were ignored or dismissed. In court, she barely spoke up to object to anything, and it was obvious she was unprepared. For the amount I paid—over $20,000—I expected a level of professionalism and effort that I simply did not receive. I left the courtroom feeling blindsided and unrepresented. It was one of the most disappointing and painful experiences I’ve ever had, especially considering the impact this case had on my family. In my opinion, she did not fight for me, did not present my case fairly, and did not act in my best interest. I would strongly advise anyone, especially fathers seeking custody, to look elsewhere for representation.
