Mrs. Stillman has been inconsistent in her role as guardian ad litem. While new information was brought to light, she should have immediately tried to work with the family of a newly incapacitated person. We’ve been trying desperately to help our dad, and every turn we hit an obstacle that only we are trying to get through. She either doesn’t care or is too overwhelmed to take on the case load she has. Unfortunately the timing is too late, and now my dad’s funds have dwindled down and he’s in a state psychiatric ward. Looking back, the activities seem very coordinated to benefit everyone but my dad. If she had been more on top of things, I don’t think my dad would have ended up in this situation. I am the one who learned that a special needs trust wasn’t set up (as it states in documentation was the intention) and that my dad lost Medicaid after his lawsuit settlement and the choice by Jewish Family Services to forego the trust “to help him get placed”. I happened to find out 4 months after the decision to keep the funds accessible for “private pay” which hasn’t benefitted my dad at all. I’m still waiting to hear from Mrs. Stillman on how she plans to handle this situation. I hope for everyone’s sake he is able to get out of the ward and into a facility with proper care for someone who was hit by a car and suffered from a severe TBI. A place that actually allows him to have some dignity in what’s left of his life.

I have been with Steven stilman for 5 years!! Its been a rough long 5 years but he made sure he didn’t give up on me. He kept telling me to hang in there!! I have never been so scared in my life.workman comp basically destroyed my life i worked so hard all these years and my job was taken from me. I’m glad that stilman represented me i wouldn’t change it for the world.
