Based on my experience with Kate Hentnik during a real estate transaction, I was extremely disappointed with her approach to the process. In my opinion, her communication and negotiation style seemed unnecessarily adversarial rather than focused on finding reasonable solutions and helping her clients successfully close the transaction. Real estate deals often involve inspection concerns, permits, repairs, and other issues that require attorneys on both sides to communicate honestly, professionally, and work toward resolution. In our experience, opportunities to resolve legitimate concerns seemed to become confrontational rather than productive, creating frustration and making it increasingly difficult for the transaction to move forward. An effective real estate attorney should certainly advocate strongly for a client, but I believe that advocacy should also include practical guidance, transparency, fair negotiation, and an effort to resolve problems when possible. Unfortunately, that was not our experience, and I would personally be very hesitant to be involved in another transaction in which she represented the other party.
