My experience with Afshin Yazdani and YLG was one of the most painful and damaging experiences my family and I have ever gone through.
At the beginning, the level of confidence, promises, and expectations presented to us were completely different from what actually happened in reality. I entered this process believing that I had a strong immigration case and trusted that something this important would be handled with genuine professionalism, responsibility, and care. Instead, after years of stress, uncertainty, and an enormous financial cost, the final outcome for my family was two refusals.
During this process, approximately $70,000 was paid in cash. Based on the outcome of the case, the way it was managed, and the quality of communication and support we received, I personally feel that the reality of the service was far different from what had originally been represented to us.
The hardest part of this experience was not only the financial loss, but the emotional and personal damage that followed. The ongoing stress and instability had a deep impact on our family life, emotional well-being, and future.
Looking back now, I truly wish I had asked far more questions before investing this level of trust, time, hope, and money into this process. I am sharing this review only so others approach such an important life decision with greater caution and awareness.
About five years ago, I signed a contract with Afshin Yazdani for the IMP C11 program. Before signing the agreement, after reviewing my resume, background, and documents, I was assured that I would receive a closed work permit within approximately 3 months, and afterward my wife and child would also obtain accompanying visas.
Unfortunately, after signing the contract and paying a significant portion of the fees, the process did not proceed as promised. Direct communication with the lawyer was almost impossible, and most of the time I was only in contact with different staff members. Communication and follow-up were very weak, and my file was repeatedly transferred between different employees without clear notice, causing significant stress and uncertainty for my family.
Although I was told the process would be completed within a few months, my application was submitted around 10 months later and was eventually refused in December 2022. According to the refusal letter, one of the main concerns was the weakness of the business plan, despite the fact that additional fees had been charged for preparing it and related services.
After the first refusal, I was encouraged to reapply with assurances that the case still had a strong chance of success. However, the second application was also refused, and I was not properly informed of the result until I repeatedly followed up myself.
Overall, my experience with this firm involved long delays, poor communication, multiple additional expenses, and promises that were ultimately not fulfilled. This process caused serious financial loss and emotional stress for my family.
This review reflects only my personal experience with this firm.

My experience with Afshin Yazdani / YLG on a Canadian startup-related immigration file was deeply disappointing and costly for my family and me financially, emotionally, and in time.
From the beginning, I was asked to pay the full legal fee upfront in multiple instalments. After that, the service quality and continuity did not match what I expected. Over the course of the file, our assigned caseworker changed repeatedly, and I often felt I was re -explaining the same background to new people. Communication became especially difficult during critical periods, and getting timely, clear answers was a consistent struggle.
There were also internal staffing changes that, in my view, disrupted the project at a sensitive stage. On top of that, we faced delays and process issues that should have been manageable (including practical portal/communication steps). Ultimately, we received a procedural fairness letter, and the response strategy we followed did not prevent a refusal. We also pursued a separate business visitor visa attempt with no success, which added stress and complications.
What impacted me most was learning about a key refusal through external follow-up, and realizing valuable time had already passed leaving a very narrow window to secure new counsel and consider court steps. We eventually had to retain a new lawyer at additional cost.
This is only my personal experience, but based on it, I strongly recommend that anyone considering YLG get independent second opinions early, insist on clear deliverables and timelines in writing, and avoid large upfront payments without verified milestones.
